French “transmedia installation designer” Miguel Chevalier turned the Moroccan cathedral Sacré Coeur into a shimmering spectacle of lights and responsive surfaces with his latest project, “Magic Carpets”.

The Wonderful Everyday

Beautiful. As always IKEA have produced a delightful new campaign. Scenes of dark forest “artificially illuminated in an intricate rhythm of dancing lights.” Very atmospheric and inviting.

“Peter Wright, IKEA UK and Ireland Marketing Manager, said, ‘We’re curious about the everyday problems people face, and find that the little things can actually make a big difference. The new creative platform ‘The Wonderful Everyday’ takes our strategy one step further, not only do we offer ideas and products for a better life at home, but we recognise and celebrate those everyday moments.'” – http://www.motherlondon.com

I love neon and I’m really liking this advert! Columbian yoghurt company Bonyurt recently released their new line “neon” yoghurt. A installation was created using mounds of glowsticks, blenders, 200m of clear tubing, 700 glasses and a DJ synching the vibrant colours and liquids with some good tunes. This is what they achieved –

For a yoghurt company this is pretty trend.

Alas, the summer is finally here! Time to relax, take it easy, have a lemonade…. you could do this, but you could also start slapping on that UV paint instead of your factor +20 sun-cream. This is the time when all the festivals become alive all over the globe. Fortunately I already have my tickets booked for the Electro Music Festival Melt in Berlin. I’m expecting great weather and a fantastic time to be had. I highly recommend it or any of the following: Electric Picnic, Burning Man, Oxygen, Glastonbury, Pukkelpop, Sziget. Just to name a very small amount! But I’ve heard/know great things about all of these. So I leave you with some very nice visuals to get you in the festival mood. I love UV colours!

I had to add this. It’s graphic, UV and a lovely song – Soon We’ll Be Found by Sia.

Now I know that this line has been prominent in the ‘glossy mags’ and blogs of all ages galore! But, while I was researching where I’d love to work when/if I move to NY, I came across Prada’s video campaign for spring 2011. It’s brilliant! Of course the clothes are fantastic, the accessories are delish and the models ‘sont magnifique’, but the execution in production, it’s so basic, minimal, snappy and bold! Also, I’m pretty sure I detect one of my favorite bands Ratatat as the audio inspiration. Love it all!

Strike that, it actually is Ratatat, Mirando ^_^
